Costly Mistake One More Time
Oleh Mejoh –6 Jamadilawal 1426/ 13 June 2005 (Laman M@RHAEN)Assalamualaikum,
Wood –
I can still remember reading The Star newspaper earlier this year when the ADUN for Segambut stand right next to a RM500.00 fiber reinforce plastic fence for a drain that is less than 1 feet deep in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail. She is asking why those amount of money wasted by DBKL for such a silly project , not to mention the RM500.00 rubberized pathway for the blind out of no way and RM500.00 granite slab for a place like TTDI. To me the answer is very very simple; corruption and corruption and corruption to the power of infinity.
Last month I drove back from work and as usual I took a detour going through TTDI instead of taking the LDP heading towards Sri Damansara to avoid the jam from Jalan Damansara towards Penchala Tol. I notice that a wall is being erected at Jalan Dato’ Sulaiman towards the end of the road heading to Kg. Sg. Penchala. At first I believe that this wall is built to prevent the whatsoever claim by some people that live there from getting into their house. On second thought though, I am sure that this is just another stupid project awarded by DBKL to its cronies for the sake of giving project so that someone can make quick bucks.
Tell me, who needs a wall at Jalan Dato’ Sulaiman knowing that there is a slid road separating the terrace house from the main road. To make it more interesting, there are two walls constructed by DBKL for this purpose instead of one. DBKL even put a window at this wall to make sure that those people in the terrace house would not be staring just at the concrete wall. Now they can still enjoy the wonderful view of car passing by and preventing the so call dust, noise and smoke from entering their house.
The funny thing is, I have a friend who lives in Greenwood. Last two years, part of his land was taken by Government to widen the road. Fair enough that the government compensate the family. Even the amount is small but at least something is given back to them. The thing I like to highlight here is the fact that the road is only 2 feet away from my friend’s house and most of the houses there. But did anybody bother to build a wall for these families in Greenwood to prevent the sound, dust, and smoke from getting into their houses? Guess what? The answer is NO. Sadly to say, that area is our opposition stronghold in Gombak.
To me, I don’t give a “toot” whether Greenwood is under DBKL or Gombak Municipal, but how DBKL could award such project in TTDI after being ‘reminded’ in our national media. Last time I did asked those chickens from BPR, Jabatan Audit, PDRM or UMNO/BN what would they do to stop those ridiculous project. I think now I can safely say nothing has been done. Expected but still I am disappointed with the no action response from those entities. May be after this we will see the same ADUN/DUN stand next to the wall in The Star or other national media. Let her stand there and talk all she wants, because to me action is louder than word. Or may be that is what people in BN is doing, just talk and no action. At least Pak Lah is showing a darn good example how he can talk but no action. To cut Money Politic lah, Islam Hadhari lah, itu lah, ini lah. But so far, like Malaysian usually say; “Talk only, tapi satu habuk pun tarak”
I think for the time being, I want to stop talking about corruption in BN led government. Take my fingers off from my keyboard and let other people talk about it. At least for a month or two. To me it is like a never ending story from Disneyland. No matter how many cases exposed, no matter how many got ‘convicted’, BN will still do it. It is already in BN blood and they need it to make them alive. Killing corruption means to kill BN. I take that this statement is true until someone can prove me wrong.
