Anwar speaks for the future generation
By Alex - Migrant Care - Laman M@RHAEN

The Post 12th General Malaysia government was merely 4 months old. It was filled with many eventful political and administrative incidents ranging from the lips services of judiciary reformation, greater independent of Anti Corruption Agencies and more cases of human rights.

However, such effort was seem to be a bid too late in comforting the restless and reformists who wants everything to be done four years ago! In political front, motion of non confidence in the parliament was mooted by SAPP but it was PKR who brought in writing to the speaker's chamber and was rejected.

Organized street protests against government fuel subsidy policies and high impact of the inflation on people's daily life has been fully exploited by Pakatan Rakyat to stir up the non confidence motion in the parliament.

Abdullah 's bad policies can no longer be "discounted as an inconvenient truth" when  the people on the street shouldered the heavy cost of living with the official prevailing Consumer Price index of only 3.5%.

The unprecedented Political Coup De' tat by the "Pakatan Rakyat" had failed to over throw the government, but it has significantly affected the investment sentiment among the fund manager fraternities.

Malaysia Stock market incurred the paper losses of more than its national budget for 2008 while infrastructure related bonds market has been halted by the market forces when wind fall taxes on Independent Power Producers was to be introduced.

It is very interesting to see , but a bid too late for the opposition Prime Minister in waiting commenting on the new Power Purchase Agreement that caused the national's sole power re-seller, TNB to procured 40% more than the market demand.

Second Finance Minister had already recommend the wind fall tax mechanism to correct the IPP's  power purchase agreement amendment rather than the harsh actions of forcing IPP to surrender their excess profit to the tax regimes.

As a whole both Anwar and Finance minister had failed to recognized the role of roles of third component of  the operational and maintenance management contract  that IPP granted to its cronies to reduce its profitability while channel out the funds to the corrupted regimes.

The crucial points of the political and economic development should be focus on the younger generation of this country. There are more than 250,000 school leavers who failed to enter the institute of higher learning, yet they need to be equipped with living skills for their future survival.

The young Generation needs credible government with highest integrity in Good governance practices. It is equally important to have a fair justice and transparent judiciary system.

The current University Acts is hurting our future leaders because their desperate voices of dissatisfaction are completely shut down by the authority.

Besides acquiring knowledge, university students should have room to exercise their right to assemble, to expression, to livelihood, education, the right to know and be informed. They want transparent and accountable use of power by the authorities and they want a government that is corrupt free

This is the voice that Anwar speaks for the future generation; but we are yet see how he practices what he preaches!
